You can add a form to your site that lets your visitors rate your site in the BuffyGuide Link Database! It provides interactivity for your site, and can increase your site's ranking in the database, thereby generating more visitors to your site. The form is called from our server and is simple to add.
How to get started:
- Your site must be listed in the Link Database. (If it's not already listed, click "Add a Link" above. Then come back here after it's been approved.)
- Get your site's ID number for the Link Database. This number was included in the email you received when your site was accepted into the Link Database. If you lost the email, click here or scroll down for info on how to find out your ID number.
- Choose the design you want from the choices below. Copy and paste the HTML code into your page where you want the rating form to appear, replacing YOURSITEID with your ID number in the following line:
<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="ID" VALUE="YOURSITEID">
It is preferred that you save the "Rate It!" graphic to your own server. This will allow it to load more quickly for your visitors, and will keep your site from looking silly if our server should go down or the image otherwise becomes unavailable. Other than the ID and the image, please do not make any other modifications to the code!

If you lost the original email containing your site ID, just find your link in the database (by searching or browsing the category it's in), and hover your cursor over the link to your site. Look at the status bar at the bottom of your browser — you'll see a URL like this:
http://www.buffyguide.com/cgi-bin/linkssql/jump.cgi?ID=xxx
The number at the end, after ID=, is your site's ID number.
Alternate ways to view the URL containing your site ID:
If you use Internet Explorer: Find your link in the database (by searching or browsing the category it's in), hover your cursor over the link to your site, right-click, and choose "Properties."
If you use Netscape: Find your link in the database (by searching or browsing the category it's in), hover your cursor over the link to your site, right-click, and choose "Copy Link Location." Then paste the link into your browser's location bar (where you normally type in the URLs of sites you visit), or anywhere else you feel like pasting it.
